Creating remixes of tracks or having tracks mixed by a mix engineer are common instances where you would need to work with or create stems/parts. each drum sound, these may also be referred to as parts. ![]() If each individual track is rendered as a separate audio file, e.g. For example, a song might be split into five separate stems: vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards and drums. REAPER 6 is not yet officially qualified as a supported host for their plugins.A stem is a discrete or grouped collection of audio sources mixed together. Keep in mind this is all just about having a stable DAW for Multitrack Recording & Virtual Soundcheck. ![]() And as many people were using REAPER instead anyway, it made more sense to just qualify it and pull their resources from Tracks Live. So my guess is, they were never able to establish Tracks Live in the professional FoH sector the way they set out to. Additionally the last update was released in January 2017. They initially sold an optional Premium Service Agreement with it, which they retired after a couple years. If you look at older FoH interviews from Waves, you can actually spot REAPER quite regularly in the background (see at 0:39). ![]() The way I see it, qualifying Reaper was a straight up business decision. I know one can dream, but this is absolutely not going to happen. Other than with many issues, I seem to think that a native integration in the DAW would be more beneficial than some plugin with a standard (VST / device /. THIS would be a great feature for a future version of Reaper !
